Bioprocess Technology Seminars Set for Stockholm in June

ASME will address the issues, breakthroughs, and innovation in bioprocess equipment and research when it convenes its 2nd Annual Bioprocess Technology Seminars and Exhibition — Europe, from June 23–25, in Stockholm, Sweden.

Following the successful launch of its first Europe-based bioprocess conference in Dublin last year, the 2008 ASME conference will attract industry and manufacturing leaders, decision-makers, researchers, educators and professionals in the growing field of bioprocess technology. This year's event will be held at the Clarion-Sign Hotel, Stockholm, in conjunction with the meetings of the ASME Bioprocess Equipment Standard committee.

The conference will feature six concurrent seminars focused on topics at the forefront of the bioprocess technology industry. Topics include bioreactor design, purification process development, aseptic fill and finish for biopharmaceuticals, equipment design, disposables technology, and systems maintenance of operations.

The seminars will be led by panels of industry experts representing companies that include Amgen, Biogen, GE Healthcare Sciences, LifeTek Solutions, Pall Life Sciences, Baxter, Merck, and many others. Case studies, best practices, and the implementation of new technologies will support robust discussions.

Recognizing the need to keep industry professionals informed of the rapid changes in bioprocess technology, ASME will also offer a workshop on its bioprocess equipment standards, along with tabletop exhibits and valuable networking opportunities.

The conference will also include onsite industry tours of the GE Healthcare Life Sciences Uppsala site, a $17 billion unit within General Electric Co., supporting healthcare professionals and their patients in more than 100 countries, and Alfa Laval Tumba AB, a leading global provider of specialized products and engineered solutions for the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.

Early bird registration discounts are available if you register by April 15 and a complimentary one-year membership to ASME will be offered to nonmembers.
