Spring student conferences set for March
and April
The 2006 ASME Spring Student Conferences,
formerly known as Regional Student Conferences (RSCs), will take place
in March and April throughout the United States.
The conferences, which regularly attract more than 2,500 participants
each year, are hosted by ASME sections or by the mechanical engineering
or mechanical engineering technology departments at selected universities.
Currently, the schedule for the Spring Student Conferences is as follows:
March 4-5, University of Missouri-Rolla, Rolla, Mo.
March 18-19, Penn State University, University Park, Pa.
March 24-26, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colo.
April 1-2, Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, Calif.
April 1-2, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tenn.
April 6-8, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Ark.
April 6-8, University of South Florida, Tampa, Fla.
April 7-8, Boise State University, Boise, Idaho
April 7-8, Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich.
April 28-29, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Mass.
Date to be determined, Fairleigh Dickenson University, Teaneck,
N.J.
In addition to professional development workshops, graduate school seminars
and career fairs, the conferences also include such ASME competitions
as the Ingersoll Rand ASME Student Sections Competition, the Student
Design Competition, and the Old Guard Oral Presentation, Technical Poster
and Web Page Design Competitions.
