ASME partners with two groups in China on new training program

ASME will partner with two Beijing-based groups on a new management-training program for engineers.

Under terms of the agreements, Beijing Jiao Tong University and Beijing Modern Management Technology Exchange Center will administer the ASME Global Management for Engineering and Technology (GMET) courses to trainees, using the delivery format, method of instruction, and course materials developed by ASME.

GMET provides instruction and training on corporate strategic planning, project management, team building, and other subjects designed to expand the knowledge and skill sets of engineers beyond the purely technical and into areas relating to business management and operations.

Consisting of three courses, GMET is delivered through a blended learning format combining online course material, quizzes and case studies, and a discussion forum. Participants who complete the course or program receive a certificate of completion.

According to the agreements, ASME will assist with schedules and also offer to select and dispatch instructors, teaching assistants, and interpreters for training sessions.

Global Management for Engineering and Technology is one of the Society's programs developed to serve ASME's worldwide members and customers by offering learning solutions to issues relating to engineering and technology management.
