125th anniversary events underway

Celebrations to mark Founders Day are being launched this month as part of the kickoff to events commemorating ASME's 125th anniversary.

As part of the 125th anniversary, monthly articles in Mechanical Engineering magazine will document the growth of the profession through 12 decades of technological advancement.

January looked at the development of standards as instrumental in early technical and professional exchanges. This month will document the rise of industrialization in the late 19th century. March will explain the growth of the engineering profession in the early 20th century.

Founders Day will be celebrated at the grassroots level on Feb. 16 by ASME units worldwide.
