Revisions to the by-laws of the ASME Auxiliary were approved at the November 2004 meeting. Other revisions will follow in future columns.

Revisions to Article One involve the new Associate Member category. Anyone not having a familial relationship with an ASME member but who supports the Auxiliary's objectives is eligible for Associate Membership. Associate Members may serve on section or national committees, but may not be voting members of the National Board.

Associate Members will pay dues and make an additional donation to educational funds annually. The amount of the donation is up to the member. Lifetime membership dues will be equally divided between the General Fund and the Educational Fund.

Applications for membership in a section of the Auxiliary will be sent to the membership chair of the section the applicant wishes to join. Applications for Member-at-Large and Associate Member will be sent to ASME headquarters in New York and then forwarded to the Auxiliary treasurer, who will send the application to the Auxiliary membership chair.

Please remember that the deadline for submission of scholarship applications for the 2005–2006 academic year is March 15. The new undergraduate chair is Barbara Phillips. Her e-mail address is Bphil1130@aol.com.
