The ASME Auxiliary will be adding several new people to its Executive Board in the coming year.

Margaret Holdredge of Fort Collins, Colo., has been nominated to replace James Chenoweth, who will resign in June of next year as our Student Loan Fund Treasurer. Kathy E. Smith of Holden, Mass., will replace Ella Baldwin-Viereck as Auxiliary Publicity Chair as of next month. In addition, Pat Jordan will replace Glenna Harrington as Historian, while Sharon Austin will replace Donna Simoneau as Parliamentarian.

In other Auxiliary news, the Clarke Scholarship Committee has decided to deviate slightly from its previous position of awarding only 5 percent of its fund balance. The ASME Foundation and the ASME Auxiliary both approved awarding 5.47 percent of the fund balance — or a total amount of $93,000. The scholarship money will be divided as follows: There will be eight $6,000 scholarships going to university mechanical engineering departments with ASME student sections, and nine $5,000 scholarships going to FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) students. These scholarships are paid half from ASME Auxiliary Clarke funds and half from ASME Foundation Clarke funds.
