Online courses offered in two languages

ASME's Continuing Education Institute will get the new year started by offering 18 online courses in February, with five of them new in English and three new in Spanish.

The new courses offered in English are: Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Level 2, ASME B 31.3, ASME B31.8, Section VIII Division 2, and Project Management for Engineers and Technical Professionals.

The three new online courses in Spanish are Selection and Pump Operation for Petroleum Facilities, taught by Fernando Davila Torres; ASME B31.3 Code on Process Piping, and ASME B31.8 Code on Gas Transmission and Distribution Piping Systems. The last two courses will be taught by Ruben Rollino.

Five other online courses are also available in Spanish: Vibration Analysis and Predictive Maintenance, ASME B31.1 Code on Power Piping, Non-destructive Testing, ASME Section IX (Welding and Drawing), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance.

Each online course takes six weeks to complete and is taught by a certified instructor. The essential online feature of the courses allows participants to learn the material anytime and anywhere.

Online courses include lecture notes, readings, discussion boards and interactive exercises. Participants earn 2.25 ASME continuing education credits upon completion of a course.
The cost of an English course is $595 for ASME members and $695 for nonmembers. Courses in Spanish are $395 for members and $495 for nonmembers.

To accommodate scheduling difficulties, the courses are available as a self-study option for the same price.
