Advances in fuel cell technology subject of meeting

The power of fuel cells and the capabilities of micro and minichannels will be the focus of a weeklong meeting during April in Rochester, N.Y.

The first event of the meeting will be the International Conference on Fuel Cell Science, Engineering and Technology, which is scheduled for April 21-23 at the R.I.T. Inn and Conference Center.

During this conference, researchers and technologists will share information about the latest advances in analysis, design, modeling and optimization of the fuel cell system.

Fuel cell components — fuel cell stacks, fuels and fuel reformers, and power electronics in all types of fuel cells — will also be explained.

The second half of the weeklong event will be devoted to the potential of microchannels and minichannels in a variety of fields, such as fuel cells, refrigeration, heat exchangers, electronic cooling and biomedical devices.

During the International Conference on Microchannels and Minichannels, which will take place April 24-25, at the R.I.T. Inn and Conference Center, the challenges of the fabrication and operation of these devices will be discussed.

Registration for the International Conference on Fuel Cell Science is $475 prior to March 10, $525 after. Visit www.asme.org/fuelcell to register. For more information, e-mail fuelcell@asme.org.

Registration for the International Conference on Microchannels and Minichannels is $375 prior to March 10. Later, the fee will be $425.

Companies that wish to participate in the company showcase, an exhibit floor that will be open during the meeting, can contact the ASME Advanced Technology Program at (212) 591-7789.
