Internal Combustion Engine Conference
revs up in Ottawa
Some of the latest developments in engine
design, development and applications will be on display in September
during ASME Internal Combustion Engine 2005 Fall Conference in Ottawa.
The conference, sponsored by ASME's Internal Combustion Engine Division,
is scheduled Sept. 1114 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the Canadian
capital.
"Engines for Mobile, Marine, Rail, Power Generation and Stationary
Applications" is the theme of this year's fall meeting, which will
cover R&D advances for diesel compression-ignition, spark ignition,
rotary and reciprocating engines. Both light-duty and heavy-duty engines,
as well as large-bore internal combustion engine systems for transportation
propulsion and power generation will be covered during the conference's
technical sessions.
Technical areas to be covered during the Internal Combustion Engine
Conference include advanced engine technologies; fuels and combustion;
emission technology and issues; instrumentation, control and monitoring;
engine simulation and diagnostics; lubrication and friction; engine
after-treatment systems; engine design and modeling; engine efficiency
improvements; marine, rail, automotive and stationary engine design;
fuel sprays; and gas-engine systems development.
In addition to its many technical tracks, the meeting will include an
exhibits area for vendors. The conference also will feature the ICE
Division's annual Honors and Awards Banquet on Tuesday, Sept. 13, when
the division will recognize the outstanding achievements and efforts
of some of its members.
Registration for the conference, before Aug. 12, is $300 for ASME members
and conference authors and organizers, $425 for nonmembers. After that
date, registration will cost an additional $100. Registration for students
is $75 without the conference proceedings, and $125 with the proceedings.
