The National Board Meeting of the ASME Auxiliary, which was held in June, saw the creation of still another undergraduate scholarship, in the name of Agnes Malakate Kezios.
S. Peter Kezios, past president of ASME from 1977-78, made a gift of $25,000 to the ASME Auxiliary for an undergraduate scholarship honoring his wife Agnes.

The new scholarship was accepted by the Auxiliary as an additional one under the undergraduate scholarship committee headed currently by Alverta Cover. The scholarship will be permanently restricted and only the earnings will be used to award scholarships to mechanical engineering students during their final year of undergraduate study.

During the past four years the Auxiliary has gained three new scholarships. They are the Allen James Baldwin Scholarship for undergraduate study, the Lucy and Charles W.E. Clarke Scholarship for high school students and, now, the Agnes Malakate Kezios Scholarship for undergraduate study.

Hopefully, the future of the Auxiliary will remain bright. We encourage anyone who would like to further the aims of the ASME Auxiliary to join us in helping mechanical engineering students achieve the goal of becoming a mechanical engineer. If you would like to become a reader on any of our scholarship committees, please contact the new Auxiliary President, Nina Webb, via e-mail at webbj@asme.org.

We are in need of several readers on various committees, so please respond if you are the least bit interested in helping with our work. Thank you.
