The newly revised 2001 edition of ASME's Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code is now available — all 28 volumes of it, totaling more than 16,000 pages. Shipping of the updated Code began last month.

ASME's Boiler Code, which is accepted in more than 80 countries around the world, establishes rules of safety governing the design, fabrication and inspection of boilers, pressure vessels and nuclear power plant components during construction, including welding and nondestructive evaluation.

The volumes may be ordered separately. The Boiler Code is also available on CD-ROM.

The various volumes of the code may be ordered from ASME by calling (800) 843-2763, or (973) 882-1167, if calling from outside the United States, or by visiting ASME.ORG.

The code, which is revised every three years, comes with a three-year update service, which includes a volume of addenda issued once a year, in July 2002 and July 2003; interpretations, issued twice a year; and supplements to the two Code Cases volumes, which are issued four times a year.
