ASME NEWS
Concurrently with the publication of the 2001 edition
of ASME's Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME Press is issuing Companion
Guide to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code: Criteria and Commentary
on Select Aspects of the ASME Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Piping Codes. The
two volumes were edited by K.R. Rao.
This comprehensive guide addresses Sections I through XI of the Boiler and
Pressure Vessel Codes and Codes B31.1 and B31.3 for Pressure Piping. The
contributors also provide examples and explanatory text, graphics, references
and annotated bibliographic notes.
The idea is that engineers should be able to refer immediately to the material
requirements to find acceptance criteria. Each of the Code sections is treated
in depth by authors who are involved with the relevant committees.
Volume 1 covers Code Sections I, II, III, IV, VI and VII, as well as Code
B31.1 and B31.3 for Piping. Volume 2 includes Sections V, VIII, IX, X and
XI, as well as special topics related to the Code. Each volume contains full
introductory material, table of contents, author information and indexes
for both volumes.
The two 700-page volumes, published in hardcover, list at $195 apiece. The
price for ASME members is just $156 each. The two-volume set is available
for $280 for members or $350 for nonmembers.
The set may be ordered by calling (800) 843-2763, or (973) 882-1167, if calling
from outside the United States, or by visiting www.
asme.org/pubs/asmepress/index.html on the Web.
