R. Nelson Koopman, Ph.D., P.E., was named president and chief operating office of Engineering Systems Inc. in O'Fallon, Mo., by the company's board of directors. Koopman succeeds Anthony Valentino, who had been president for four years and was appointed president emeritus of the company. Koopman, who has been with ESI since 1996 in various capacities, was previously director of the company's mechanical and electrical engineering division. Koopman has been an ASME member since 1970.
