Turbo Expo powers up Spain for the first time

A
fter "The Global Market and Cooperative Ventures" is the theme of the 2006 ASME Turbo Expo — Power for Land, Sea and Air conference, which will take place from May 8–11 at the Barcelona International Convention Center. This year's meeting marks the first Turbo Expo to be held in Spain.

The annual conference — a discussion forum for engineers, research scientists, academics, regulatory officials, and business executives — is sponsored by ASME's International Gas Turbine Institute (IGTI).

The Turbo Expo technical congress will cover a broad range of subjects relating to gas turbine technology, from heat transfer and aerodynamics to micro-turbines and fuel cells. The technical program will encompass all applications of gas turbines, including industrial cogeneration and aerospace.

Advanced materials, alternative fuels, environmental control technology, and diagnostics and instrumentation also will be on the program at Turbo Expo, the premier forum for the global gas turbine industry.

The show's exposition will showcase the products and services of leading engine manufacturers, software developers, companies providing repair and maintenance services, and other organizations involved in research and experimentation for gas turbines.

More than 100 companies and other organizations will participate in the exposition, which will run May 9–11 and include Pratt & Whitney, GE Energy, CD-adapco, Honeywell, and Korea Air Turbo.
