Two new Codes and Standards committees
looking for volunteers
ASME's Codes and Standards department
is inviting applications for volunteers for two new Performance Test
Codes standards committees.
The new committees will prepare revisions of "Performance Monitoring
Guidelines for Steam Power Plants" and "PTC 31 Ion Exchange
Equipment."
"Performance Monitoring Guidelines for Steam Power Plants,"
which was published in 1993, provides methods to monitor steam cycle
performance, validate and process the data, and analyze it to improve
or optimize unit/plant thermal efficiency, capacity, economic dispatch,
operator awareness and cycle component diagnostics.
"PTC 31-1973 Ion Exchange Equipment" provides methods of performance
testing of ion exchange equipment.
Both committees will act according to ASME PTC Procedures that set forth
consensus requirements, including balance of categories of interest.
Meetings and teleconferences are held at the convenience of committee
members. Candidates should have at least several years' relevant experience.
Membership is subject to election and approval by the Board on Performance
Test Codes.
Anyone who is interested in participating in either committee should
contact George Osolsobe at (212) 591-8554 or at osolsobeg@asme.org.
