The 2004 Annual Meeting of the ASME Auxiliary will be held at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla, in La Jolla, Calif., on June 8 during the Society's Summer Annual Meeting. Following the morning meeting, which generally begins between 8 and 8:30 a.m., there will be a Guest Luncheon, sponsored by the ASME Auxiliary.

The Guest Luncheon, which will begin at 12:30 p.m., is open to anyone who is interested in attending. The luncheon will be held at the Rancho El Nopal Restaurant in the Bazaar del Mundo, which is located in the Old Town San Diego Historic Park. The park features five museums and a free walking tour at 2 p.m. The buffet luncheon will include the makings for different sorts of salads and other Mexican dishes. It will be held in the restaurant's Old Bar Room.

The cost of the luncheon is $15. The bus ride to the luncheon from the hotel will cost an additional $11. Tickets can be reserved by calling ASME Headquarters in New York, at 1-800-THE ASME, or (973) 882-1167. Reservations should be made in advance if possible, as it will give the planners a better idea of the number of attendees. If you cannot make reservations in advance, please make them as soon as possible after arriving at the Summer Annual Meeting.

A quick note on student loans from the Auxiliary: Any mechanical engineering students who need loans to help finish their last semester this spring should contact Janet Watson, the Student Loan Chairman, for information on getting a loan. Janet's e-mail is jswatson@bellatlantic.net.
