Town Hall meeting highlights

During a Town Hall meeting on April 15, Congressman John B. Larson explained
how engineers can contribute to the legislative process and gave the
audience of approximately 70 people an update of funding in several
areas of interest to engineers.
For responses to terrorism,
seminar focuses on emergency procedures
Emergency procedures that can be used to cope with terrorist attacks
will be addressed by several ASME courses offered in mid-June in New
York City. The two-day seminar will feature four courses.
Wright Flyer dovetails into
history as the latest engineering landmark
ASME kicked off its celebration of flight activities in February by
honoring the 1905 Wright Flyer III at Carillon Historical Park in Dayton,
Ohio, home of the Wright family.
Stephen T. Kugle Scholarship
Fund established for Region X students
Students in Region X will be the beneficiaries of the Stephen T. Kugle
Scholarship Fund, which his family recently established in his memory.

This month, the Pipeline Systems Subdivision was elevated to full Division
status.
Advances in agriculture machinery
earn a family its place in history
The inventors of a line of agricultural equipment that furthered the
evolution of farming were honored by ASME last month in La Porte, Ind.,
during a ceremony that added the Rumely family's achievements to the
list of engineering landmarks.
