Technical divisions add one to roster

This month, the Pipeline Systems Subdivision was elevated to full Division status.

This new division has been in existence less than three years. As a subdivision, the ASME unit sponsored the International Pipeline Conference, a world-class event that has grown consistently and is held on even years in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

The Division also participates actively in other conferences as well as in ASME activities.

In granting the unit full Division status, the Council on Engineering reported that, with a fully functional structure, membership in excess of 300 and successful conferences for three years, all requirements for full division status had been met.

The number of full ASME divisions now totals 36.
