Next month, ASME and the Council of Industrial Boiler Owners will present the 16th International Conference on Fluidized Bed Combustion — an arena for owners, operators, engineers and researchers to stay abreast of the latest developments pertaining to all aspects of fluidized bed combustion.

The conference, which will take place from May 13-16, will be held at John Ascuaga's Nugget Casino Resort in Reno, Nev.

The theme of the meeting will be "FBC: Meeting Energy and Environmental Needs Today — for Tomorrow." Technical sessions during the conference will cover a wide range of topics, including fluidization conditions, sustainable fuels, operating conditions and environmental issues.

The conference will also feature panel discussions on contemporary issues affecting design, manufacture and deployment of fluidized bed combustion systems.

Registration is $575 for members of ASME and cooperating societies, $665 for nonmembers. One-day registration is $215 for members and $305 for nonmembers. ASME student members may register free of charge. Nonmember students may register for $20. ASME Retired Life Members may register for $5.
