ASME business meeting convenes in New Orleans

The next ASME business meeting will take place June 6, during the Summer Annual Meeting (SAM) in New Orleans.

Members of ASME's Nominating Committee will be elected during the business meeting.

Committee members, who represent ASME's five councils for a two-year term, select the nominees for the offices of ASME vice president, members of the Board of Governors and ASME president.

ASME President John R. Parker will call the meeting to order at 5 p.m. Parker also will present his 2000-2001 State of the Society address.

An amendment to the ASME Constitution will be reviewed. In addition, Parker will announce the location and dates of the 2001 International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition as well as that information for the 2002 SAM.
