In a year, visitors to ASME.ORG almost double

ASME.ORG set its newest record for weekly visitor sessions in February, nearly doubling the number of visitors to the site from just a year ago.

During the second week of February, 71,097 visitors went to www.asme.org, an increase of 87 percent over the number of visitors to the site during the same week last year.

This year, strong use of the Web site by the military, aerospace firms and educational institutions made up the bulk of the site's usage.

Transactions for February, which include dues payments, membership registrations, catalog purchases and address changes, were very strong.

Specifically, dues and contributions made through the Web site were strongest. The number of dues transactions made this year — more than 500 — was more than double last year's number of 220.

The 110 contributions made this year tripled last year's number of 37. Professional Development also amassed more than 100 course registrations this February, compared with 38 a year ago.
