ASME Press to publish energy management guide

This month, ASME Press will publish a new book, "Practical Guide to Energy Management for Facilities Engineers and Plant Managers," by Thomas E. Mull.

This volume examines practical applications and gives useful examples for conserving energy and reducing energy costs in commercial, institutional, and industrial plants and facilities.

The first part of the book provides an introduction and the basic scientific principles and economics of energy management.

The second part is a comprehensive handbook of the most commonly used energy-consuming equipment and systems, including steam and hydronic boilers, steam systems, hydronic and pumping systems, chillers and chilled water systems, cooling towers and fluid coolers, air distribution and HVAC systems, electrical and lighting systems, compressed air systems, refrigeration systems, cogeneration systems, heat recovery systems, thermal storage systems, and control and energy management systems.

The list price of this 696-page hardcover volume (order No. 801586) is $90, but ASME members get a price break and may order it for $72.

The book may be ordered by calling (800) 843-2763, from overseas (973) 882-1167, or by visiting ASME's Web site at www. asme.org/pubs/asmepress/index.html.
