The new ASMEnews

Beginning with this edition, ASME News Online becomes ASMEnews and takes on a rich and contemporary new look and expanded functionality. The goal of the redesign is to make this important ASME communications vehicle a better tool for members to access the Society, its programs and services, and to learn the latest information about the organization and the accomplishments of fellow members.

ASMEnews will be delivered as an electronic newsletter twice per month to all of you who have provided ASME with an e-mail address. ASMEnews will include articles and features about ASME, columns by ASME officers, useful links to newsletters generated by the Society and updated links to division pages, ASME Web sites, and other products and areas of interest.

We invite you look around and click on different links. For example, clicking on ASME Quicklinks, on the right-hand of the page, will take you to interesting areas around the Society—each month, you’ll see changing items, spotlighting different content. Likewise, check our “Spotlight On:” section on the lower left hand of the front page each issue. We are also providing a link to late-breaking industry news of the day—go to the right-hand of the page and click on Late-Breaking News.

You are currently on the newsletter’s complementary Web site, www.asmenews.org, where the e-newsletter’s content is stored. Here you will also find a Feedback button so you can tell us how you like the new ASMEnews and if you have tips on articles for us. Or, send me your input directly at falcionij@asme.org, or to Ben Bahner bahnerb@asme.org, who worked hard, along with our art director, Jessica Mission, to redesign ASMEnews.

ASMEnews is your enhanced central point for general communication between the Society and its members. We hope you will enjoy it!
