Member Benefits: The @ASME.org Alias

This month, ASME Membership Development Director Michael Kreisberg discusses a unique benefit of ASME membership: the @asme.org e-mail alias.

Easy to remember, convenient, transferable, and practical, this e-mail alias forwards all e-mail to your own designated e-mail account, plus it automatically scans incoming attachments for viruses. Other benefits include identifying you as a proud member of ASME, it gives your resume or CV a more professional appearance to employers, and it includes Postini, a third-party SPAM blocking service for free.

Many of you already enjoy the benefits of the asme.org e-mail address. If you don’t already have one, it’s easy to sign up. Just go to the ASME.ORG Members Only page, at https://my.asme.org, where you can log in and select your e-mail alias (in the left hand column). Now you can stay connected, look professional and keep your communications safe with your free ASME personal e-mail alias.

As mentioned last month, ASME continually strives to improve the value you receive in exchange for your membership dues. We are working hard to ensure your complete satisfaction and will send out a member survey in the spring. My goal is for ASME to achieve the highest satisfaction scores (9’s and 10’s) from you.  If you ever feel we don’t deserve those scores, please let me know why.

Thank you for your continued loyalty to ASME and for your support of the engineering profession. Please feel free to drop me a line at membership@asme.org and let me know how we can enhance your experience. I hope you’ll agree that ASME Membership is more important than ever to your professional career.

— Michael Kreisberg, Director, ASME Membership Development
